Using our next generation PDK speed sensors you can reliably repair your PDK for a fraction of a cost of a new gearbox! The speed sensor fail is usually indicated by 173E, 17xx errors. Diagnosis:
- Car is undrivable or in limp mode
- Dash message "Gearbox fault..."
- OBD codes 173E,17??. "Transmission input shaft speed sensor 1/2 limit value exceeded"
- Sometimes temperature warnings will be present too - Often other secondary errors present
- Dealer/Shop diagnosed "speed sensor failure"
The speed sensor is important part of the Porsche PDK gearbox. It's function is to tell control unit how fast shafts rotate. Gearbox control unit constantly communicates with sensor to make sure gear shifts occured correctly. Once the sensor goes bad/dies - control unit can not continue. So it will keep driving in the gear currently selected, will not do any more shifts, and after car stopped - it will not let it drive again at all.
